From the world-renowned fishing at Arnhem Land Barramundi Lodge (NT) to the breathtaking Cape York Wenlock River at **Moreton Wilderness Lodge and Moreton Telegraph Station (**QLD), as well as the authentic Aussie Outback experience at Drysdale River Station along the iconic Gibb Road (WA), and everywhere in between, our lodges offer something different at every turn.

ABOUT THE ROLE: 

As the Lodge Manager of one of our unique lodges, you will lead and inspire our teams, playing a crucial role in enhancing our guests' experiences. This hands-on leadership role involves overseeing all aspects of the operation to ensure an exceptional guest experience. You’ll actively engage and inspire your team, fostering a shared passion for hospitality that drives every member to excel. We're looking for leaders who aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and lead from the front, with your involvement extending beyond management and administrative tasks. You may find yourself stepping in to assist with housekeeping or food and beverage service, all while ensuring that every guest remains at the heart of everything we do.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Become a 24/7 ambassador for Outback Spirit and the Lodge you lead. Be the go-to person for every guest, personally ensuring their stay is memorable and enjoyable.
  • Proactively manage the lodge guest experience to enhance Net Promoter Scores (NPS) and implement necessary changes based on guest feedback.
  • Train, mentor, and empower your team to deliver exceptional service in food and beverage, housekeeping, and overall lodge presentation while leading by example.
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure quality guest experiences and effective management of employee workflows.
  • Drive a safety culture by promptly reporting and investigating incidents and hazards, while collaborating with our Head Chef to maintain kitchen cleanliness and cold chain registers for food storage.
  • Maintain efficient control of Food & Beverage costs, stocktakes, and inventory management while ensuring financial reconciliations are conducted accurately and timely.
  • Conduct regular performance management, addressing difficult conversations as needed, and providing constructive feedback to support staff development.
  • Foster a collaborative environment by actively engaging with support functions such as HR, Finance, and Operations, and seeking assistance when needed to ensure optimal lodge performance.
  • Be a proud advocate for Outback Spirit and the Journey Beyond brand, promoting a bigger picture attitude that reflects our commitment to exceptional guest experiences.

_ This is a remote position, and you will be required to live and work at one of our properties for the entire season.  We provide all meals and accommodation. Please be aware of the unique challenges and limitations associated with long-term remote living. Our season operates from February - November for some Lodges, and April - October for others. _

ABOUT YOU: 

The perfect candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership and communication skills, with proven experience as a manager working remotely. You will thrive in a dynamic environment, effectively leading diverse teams while staying attuned to industry trends and best practices.

Requirements: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of multi-departmental management experience.
  • Proven track record in delivering high-end food and beverage services.
  • Experience in managing housekeeping operations.
  • Experience in training and developing employees.
  • Current Food Safety Supervisor certificate.
  • Current Remote First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • Heavy Rigid Driver's licence (highly desirable).
  • Commercial passenger licence (highly desirable).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and drive financial performance.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
