Job Title: Sanitation Worker

Friday, Saturday and Sunday - 12 hour shift

$19.61/hour

Job Description

Join our dynamic team within the sanitation department where you will be responsible for ensuring cleanliness and hygiene by cleaning machinery and disassembling and reassembling parts to meet high standards.

A mechanical aptitude is needed, and experience with lock out tag out procedures is highly preferred.

Candidates should be comfortable working with cleaning products and chemicals, which may have strong odors, and must be able to work at heights using ladders to clean conveyors.

Responsibilities

  • Sanitize and clean production areas inside, outside, underneath, and at heights using chemicals and cleaning tools while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in warm, moist environments.
  • Evaluate sanitation effectiveness through visual inspection and monitoring chemical concentrations for compliance with programs.
  • Complete pre-operational inspections of equipment and document findings.
  • Properly and accurately complete all sanitation documentation and understand the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), chemical labels, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Contribute to incident investigations related to safety, food safety, pest sightings, contaminations, allergen cross-contact, non-conformances, complaints, and audit findings.
  • Prepare production equipment for cleaning by following proper lock out tag out (LOTO) procedures.
  • Disassemble, clean, and sanitize all food-processing equipment, including storage areas, and handle line clean-ups, documentation, and enforcement of safety rules.
  • Maintain plant cleanliness in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety standards.
  • Adhere to and practice all rules of Absolute Safety, including safety, food safety, LOTO, and GMPs.
  • Work in non-climate controlled (hot) environments.
  • Coordinate supplies, equipment, and contractor support for plant sanitation and pest control.
  • Log and record daily chemical usage.
  • Train employees in sanitation and related procedures and programs.
  • Foster a team atmosphere by working well with others and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Pay attention to safety for oneself and others by checking areas of the line where others are working before starting equipment.
  • Clean all equipment entering the washroom by following written procedures, ensuring effective cleaning and safe reassembly with all guards and parts replaced.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of all dry-cleaning procedures.
  • Operate all applicable classes of Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) with proper training and maintain valid certification.
  • Perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Work independently and notify supervision of any issues.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Work within a loud, GMP-compliant environment requiring hair and beard nets and adherence to other GMP practices.

The facility operates under warm, moist conditions, and shifts are available across weekdays and weekends, offering flexibility in scheduling.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.65 - $20.11/hr.
