A well-capitalized climate technology venture is seeking a Co-Founder & CEO to build and scale a next-generation energy infrastructure company focused on helping commercial businesses reduce operating costs, improve resiliency, and participate in the evolving distributed energy economy.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a highly validated market opportunity with early commercial traction, strategic backing, established technology relationships, and significant founder-level equity ownership.

The company is being launched through an experienced venture creation platform with a strong track record of building and scaling successful technology businesses across climate and infrastructure markets. The incoming CEO will have the opportunity to shape the business from the ground up while leveraging the support, network, and capital resources of an experienced institutional partner.

The Opportunity

Commercial and industrial businesses across North America are facing rapidly rising electricity costs, growing grid instability, and increasing pressure to optimize energy usage. At the same time, advancements in distributed energy technologies and new utility programs are opening the door for innovative solutions that create both operational savings and recurring revenue opportunities for customers.

This venture is positioned at the intersection of energy infrastructure, software, finance, and commercial operations — delivering scalable behind-the-meter energy solutions for commercial customers.

The business has already validated the market need, developed an active customer pipeline, and established key industry relationships. The next step is bringing in an entrepreneurial leader to scale the company into a category-defining platform.

What You’ll Do

As Co-Founder & CEO, you will have broad ownership across strategy, growth, fundraising, operations, and team building.

Key responsibilities include:

• Define and execute the company’s strategic vision and market expansion plan
• Lead all go-to-market and commercial efforts, including early customer acquisition
• Build and scale a high-performing cross-functional team
• Partner closely with technical leadership to shape product and deployment strategy
• Structure and secure project financing and capital partnerships
• Lead investor relations and future fundraising activities
• Develop strategic partnerships across energy, infrastructure, and financing ecosystems
• Establish operational processes and scalable business infrastructure
• Serve as the face of the company with customers, investors, and partners

Ideal Background

We are looking for an entrepreneurial operator who thrives in ambiguity, can build credibility quickly, and has experience scaling businesses from early-stage growth into commercial traction.

Ideal candidates may come from:

• Energy infrastructure
• Battery energy storage
• EV charging
• Distributed energy resources (DER)
• HVAC or electrification
• Industrial technology
• Climate tech
• Energy software
• Infrastructure finance
• Venture-backed B2B technology companies

Strong candidates will likely have:

• Experience building a company, business unit, or major product initiative from 0-to-1
• P&L ownership and operational leadership experience
• Strong commercial instincts and customer-facing leadership capability
• Experience raising capital and/or working with investors
• Exposure to project finance, asset-backed financing, or infrastructure deployment models
• Ability to attract, hire, and retain top talent
• Strong communication and storytelling skills with customers, investors, and boards
• Comfort operating in fast-paced, resource-constrained startup environments
• Familiarity with Canadian / North American energy markets is highly valued
