Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant

Location: Houston TX

Employment Type: Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care within assigned clinical areas. This role involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities ensuring efficient patient flow and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist providers with patient examinations procedures and diagnostic testing
• Support treatment plans dressing changes and patient care activities under physician supervision
• Perform patient intake including vital signs and medical history documentation
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR/EMR)
• Handle appointment scheduling patient registration and demographic updates
• Conduct insurance verification and eligibility checks
• Manage referral processing and medical necessity documentation
• Support billing functions including copay collection and payment posting
• Provide excellent customer service via inbound and outbound calls
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA TJC CLIA NCQA and other regulatory standards
• Maintain a clean organized and efficient clinical environment

Required Qualifications:

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Strong knowledge of clinical workflows and patient care procedures
• Experience with EPIC or similar EHR/EMR systems
• Excellent communication multitasking and time management skills
• Proficiency in data entry and scheduling software

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in front desk operations and call center support
• Strong understanding of insurance processes and billing support
• Ability to handle high patient volume in a fast-paced environment
• Professional phone etiquette and customer service skills

Work Environment:
