Overview
Surgical Tech travel assignment in Rochester, NY. Start date 05/18/2026 for 13 weeks. Work in a hospital operating room on a rotating 12-hour schedule (days/evenings/nights). Responsibilities
- Scrub, gown, and glove for surgical cases; maintain a sterile field and assist the surgical team with instrument counts and handling.
- Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon, anticipate needs, and manage intraoperative instrumentation across multiple specialties.
- Support robotic-assisted procedures, including setup and instrument exchange for DaVinci systems.
- Assist with room preparation, turnover, and postoperative cleanup to ensure readiness for subsequent cases.
- Adapt to a broad case mix, including orthopedics, general surgery, plastics, urology, cardiac, neuro, vascular, ophthalmic, GYN, ENT, thoracic, oral-maxillofacial, and trauma (level 1) cases.
- Participate in transplant procedures as part of the OR team when required, under supervision and protocol adherence.
- Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and patient-care standards throughout the shift.

Requirements
- NBSTSA Certification or 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technician
- Minimum two (2) years of operating room experience
- Operating room experience in a level 1 trauma center is highly desired
- BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
- Able to scrub and handle instrument exchange efficiently
- Eligibility to work in the United States and ability to work in a high-acuity surgical environment
