Overview

We are seeking a senior level Python Developer (10 years) to support a high impact Data Science group building advanced AI systems and agentic workflows. This role requires a self starter with a hacker ethos - someone who experiments prototypes quickly and can independently solve complex engineering problems without hand holding.

The ideal candidate has deep Python expertise hands on experience with AI Foundry and has previously designed and deployed RAG systems using vector databases (Pinecone strongly preferred). Experience in industrial or engineering environments is a major advantage as our AI agents must interpret and reason over units of measurement engineering concepts and domain specific data.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop optimize and maintain Python based AI and data engineering solutions.
• Build and enhance RAG pipelines including embedding workflows vector storage and retrieval logic.
• Integrate and deploy solutions using AI Foundry and modern LLM frameworks.
• Build and maintain FastAPI services to support internal data science and AI workloads.
• Collaborate with data scientists to design agentic workflows and autonomous task driven systems.
• Work with engineering domain datasets where units of measurement and physical concepts matter.
• Implement best practices for code quality version control and rapid prototyping using GitHub Copilot.
• Contribute to architecture discussions around vector databases model orchestration and agent frameworks.

Required Skills

• Python (Advanced) - must be at least 7/10 in real world proficiency.
• AI Foundry - hands on experience required.
• RAG development experience including:
  • ChromaDB (acceptable)
  • Pinecone (strongly preferred)
• FastAPI - production level experience.
• GitHub Copilot - must actively use it in development.
• Industrial or engineering environment experience - ability to understand and reason about units tolerances physical measurements etc.
• Strong debugging prototyping and hacker mindset problem solving skills.

Preferred / Bonus Skills

• OpenAI Python library
• Agentic pattern design (BIG plus)
• MongoDB
• Experience building AI agents or autonomous workflows
• Familiarity with vector search optimization and embedding strategies
