Job Description

Director of Early Intervention (EI Program Director) REMOTE POSITION

A well-established Early Intervention provider is seeking an experienced Director of Early Intervention to oversee program operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality services for infants and toddlers with developmental delays and disabilities. This leadership role is responsible for program administration, staff supervision, compliance oversight, and maintaining strong family-centered services.

  • Full-Time – 40 hours per week
  • W2 employment

Position Overview:

The EI Program Director provides leadership in program operations, service delivery, supervision, quality assurance, fiscal oversight, and community engagement. The Director ensures the delivery of high-quality, family-centered early intervention services while maintaining compliance with New York State Early Intervention regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of Early Intervention services.
  • Ensure agency compliance with NYS DOH EI regulations and federal Part C requirements.
  • Maintain agency policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure regulatory alignment.
  • Ensure all providers meet EI qualification standards and complete required training.
  • Coordinate audits, reviews, and corrective action plans.
  • Supervise therapists, evaluators, service coordinators, and administrative staff.
  • Lead staff recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance development.
  • Review evaluations, session notes, IFSP documentation, and billing records for completeness and accuracy.
  • Track program indicators such as timeliness of services, progress toward IFSP outcomes, and family satisfaction.
  • Serve as liaison with families, municipalities, service coordinators, hospitals, pediatricians, and community partners.
  • Promote culturally competent, family-centered services.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, confidentiality, and HIPAA standards.

Qualifications:

Education (Required)

One of the following:

  • Master's degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Education, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, or a related field; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with significant Early Intervention, early childhood, or health administration experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2–5 years of supervisory or administrative experience in health, education, or human services.
  • Experience working with infants, toddlers, or children with developmental delays strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of NYS EI regulations, IFSP processes, and documentation standards.
  • Experience working with culturally diverse families and communities.
  • Minimum two years of full-time equivalent experience in EI, clinical pediatric, or early childhood education programs serving children birth to five years of age.
  • Direct experience delivering services to children with disabilities and their families.
  • At least one year of experience providing services to children under three years of age and their families.

  • Ability to manage confidential information responsibly.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and data systems.
  • High attention to detail and compliance-driven mindset.
