eigenblue - We build systems that build physical systems: Our AI systems design and deliver custom-built, multidisciplinary systems to solve real-world R&D challenges. As today's R&D demand can no longer be met with off-the-shelf tools, our approach crosses traditional boundaries, uniting software, electronics, mechanics, and applied physics. Our proprietary AI models generate system architectures and orchestrate fabs, human teams, and third-party tools to bring them to life. Our deployment teams integrate these systems directly into our customers' environments, turning complex ideas into working physical solutions.

As an AI Engineer Intern (m/f/d) in our Product Division, you will gain hands-on experience building our AI product from the ground up. You'll work alongside our product development team to develop cutting-edge AI solutions that power physical R&D automation while learning from science and industry experts to shape the future of AI-driven multidisciplinary system design.

Your Role

• Support the development and testing of AI solutions (LLM and non-LLM) for physical R&D automation and system design in mechatronics and robotics
• Assist in implementing and experimenting with AI reasoning approaches, working with our proprietary ontology and algorithms combined with public tools and data
• Contribute to building MLOps pipelines and model deployment infrastructure using cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) with Docker, Kubernetes, and FastAPI
• Collaborate with AI and Data Engineers to integrate AI features into our product under guidance from senior team members
• Experiment with RAG systems, agent architectures, and prompt engineering techniques while learning about LLM evaluation and optimization

Your Profile

• Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI/ML, or related discipline
• Solid programming skills in Python and familiarity with LLM providers and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, and/or Azure)
• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts, LLMs, and modern AI tools and eagerness to learn about production ML systems, MLOps practices, and cloud-based deployment
• Know-how of RAG, agents, fine-tuning, simulation, robotics, or experience with cloud platforms and containerization technologies through coursework or projects
• Strong communication skills in English and enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced environment
